La Poutine Week goes on from the 1st to the 7th of February and it’s not only in Montreal, but Quebec City, Ottawa and Toronto.

The concept was created as a fun festival to bring people together around a traditional dish of poutine. 30 different restaurants in Montreal will be pushing the limits to create a special poutine for 10$ or less only for the week of La Poutine Week. Fans and eaters are then asked to vote on www.LaPoutineWeek.com so a poutine champ can be crowned?as the best Poutine in the city by the end of the week.

La Poutine Week combines a food festival with a fun food contest that allows discerning diners to sample and rank their favorite poutines for the full week. Online votes and a few celebrity tasters will help crown one of the city’s best poutines! Restaurants like Imadake Izakaya, Chez Boris, Miss Pret a Manger, Ice House and La Banquise will be among the many involved this year! This unique dining experience invites you to discover and savour special poutines at special prices. A full listing of participating establishments can be found at: www.LaPoutineWeek.com

The event was co-created by Montreal food blogger Le Mechant Mangeur (AKA Na’eem Adam). “It’s the gravy that keeps us together and I love that about Montreal!” says Na’eem Adam. “The unique offerings from the restaurants on a traditional Quebecois dish are a reflection of our mixed culture in Montreal”, adds Thierry Rassam, co-founder of the event.

La Poutine Week in Montreal is a contest, a fun food tour and a discovery tool for hungry Montrealers looking for new poutine places in this great city! For more information visit: www.lapoutineweek.com.
